about Us
TEAM WORKZ ORGANIZATION
TEAM (Together Everyone Accomplishes More) WORKZ (with a “Z” because we stay with you until the end) started officially on February 20, 2019. We became a 501c3 non-profit organization in May 2019.
Our Beginnings
In our first year we hosted the 2019 Homeless Resource Fair on Veterans Day weekend. We attracted approximately 250 attendees who had access to 22 various partner organizations.
That same year, we hosted our first Christmas event at Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen. We served approximately 225 meals, some of which had to be delivered to those in need. TEAM WORKZ also gave out winter clothing and donated two vans of food to Place of Grace Shelter in Rockingham for their homeless program.
We have since followed that first Christmas with special events that included partnering with Project Santa in 2020 to give away approximately 700 bikes and over 500 gifts to kids and their parents as well as hosting a 2021 event at the Community Center in Pinebluff where we served over 400 meals. In 2022 we served over 700 meals and gave out 800 gifts and toys, and in 2023 we served 800 meals and gave out more than 900 gifts and toys.
TEAM WORKZ Today
At TEAM WORKZ we work daily to help those in need. As we continue to grow, we have been able to offer more services. In addition to feeding, clothing, and providing hygiene items to the needy, TEAM WORKZ also provides hotel rooms for the homeless during inclement weather or for those in dire situations.
Our Future Plans
Our future plans include building a Transitional Advancement Center (TAC) that will not only offer shelter for the homeless but also provide skill-building instruction, job preparation, and the tools needed to transition to independent living. (For more information, visit the TAC page.)
Our budget is mainly supported by private donations. If you are interested donating goods, services, or funds to our organization, please visit the Donate tab.
